Shoe Fitting Procedure

Step 1: Understanding Foot Shapes and Sizes
Every individual’s feet are unique, and a proper fit is essential for comfort, performance, and health. ANSO is committed to ensuring a perfect fit for each customer by considering the distinctive characteristics of feet, especially within the Pakistani context, where foot shapes can vary significantly from global averages due to lifestyle and genetics.
Step-by-Step Shoe Fitting Procedure
-
Measure Foot Length
-
Tools Needed: Ruler or Brannock Device (foot measuring tool).
-
Process: Place the foot on a flat surface with the heel against a wall. Measure from the back of the heel to the tip of the longest toe. Ensure both feet are measured as they can differ slightly.
-
Measure Foot Width
-
Process: Wrap a measuring tape around the widest part of the foot (usually the ball). This helps in determining the width size, as many people have wide or narrow feet, which affects the fit.
-
Check Arch Type
-
Process: To determine the arch type, wet the foot and step onto a piece of paper. Observe the imprint:
-
Flat Arch: Most of the foot is visible.
-
Normal Arch: A moderate curve is visible.
-
High Arch: Only the heel and ball of the foot are visible.
-
Knowing the arch type helps in selecting shoes with the right arch support.
-
Consider Toe Room
-
Process: After wearing the shoe, ensure there's about a thumb’s width space between the tip of the longest toe and the end of the shoe. This space allows natural movement and prevents discomfort.
-
Heel Fit Check
-
Process: The heel should fit snugly without slipping. Excessive heel movement can cause blisters and reduce comfort.
-
Test Both Feet
-
Process: Always test shoes on both feet. Walk around to ensure the fit feels comfortable and there’s no pinching or sliding.
-
Time of Day Measurement
-
Tip: Feet tend to swell throughout the day, so it’s best to measure foot size in the late afternoon or evening for the most accurate fit.
